Informatics, Inc. is a services company that focuses on ensuring customers have choices of pragmatic solutions that can meet today's needs while still capable of evolving gracefully toward the needs of tomorrow.
We have executive management and implementation experience for early stage venture backed companies, for publicly traded companies, and for Kaiser Permanente, the largest nonprofit healthplan in the United States. Our broad experience provides a pragmatic grounding to ensure the applicability and quality of our services to a diverse range of client needs.
We have designed and evaluated modern service-oriented architectures for companies large and small. We have taken the architectures we have designed through architectural review by Sun Professional Services, the Kaiser Permenante Architecture Council, and through the due-diligence process for several successful rounds of venture financing. We are prepared to help with any stage of the architectural design and review process.
We have participated in the vendor selection and system implementation for several national Electronic Health Record implementation at Kaiser Permanente, and have led system evaluation and selection processes for practice management and scheduling systems. Our experience can help ensure that the right questions are asked—and properly answered—during your selection process. We have broad contacts in the informatics community that can help validate vendor claims.
Once systems have been selected, early implementation begins. Early implementation is a critical phase, and mistakes during this phase can jeopardize your entire system investment. We have experience implementing enterprise systems for large and small organizations, and understand the cultural changes and organizational commitment required for a successful implementation.
We have several open-source systems under development. We prefer to work under the Apache 2 open-source license, as this license addresses patent issues, and allows integration of our work into commercial systems.
Our Distributed Workflow Automation Project, is our largest current effort which we host at dwfa.org. Sponsored by the Veterans Health Administration, we have developed example modules for versioned terminology services, for integrating terminology development with distributed workflow automation, and for orders management.
